VOLUNTEERING TO SUPPORT NHSIM

 

Supporting an active & busy program like NHSIM takes a LOT of work, but the job is easy when shared by everyone. And while we Boosters work hard to raise the funds needed, there are many non-financial ways you can help, too. Fundraisers need to be organized, supported and staffed, and events like football games and parades need chaperones and support volunteers to run smoothly and safely. Here’s a list of everything the we parents to do to support NHSIM, plus how you can sign up.

WHAT IT TAKES:

10-20

(# of volunteers needed for each football game, concert, or night of Bingo.)

25 - 50

(# of helpers needed to organize and run the Festival, Safeway Open, or other fundraisers.)

15 - 20

(# of Booster board officers & committee chairs needed to organize it all.)

HOW TO DRIVE | VOLUNTEER | CHAPERONE

IMPORTANT - If parents plan on driving OTHER students (not just their own) or being Chaperones they MUST BE fingerprinted (LIVE SCANNED) - Forms are available in the Principal's Office at NHS or Human Resources at NVUSD. 

 

PARENT DRIVERS

Step 1

  • Fill out this parent driver form HERE  or we have hard copies in the Principal's Office at NHS.

 

Step 2 (2 options) 

  • Option #1. Physically go to the DMV and get a print out of their driving record $5 cost and bring record and completed parent driver form to Transportation (located in the bus yard at Memorial Stadium)

 

------ OR --------

  • Option #2. Bring completed parent driving form to Linda Perez at Transportation (located in the bus yard at Memorial Stadium) and she can obtain the DMV printout for you - NO cost but it takes at least a week.

 

  • Lastly - if the car is over 10 years or older you will need to contact Linda Perez at 253-3556 to schedule an inspection of the vehicle.

Sustainment & Volunteer Form
How to Sign-Up:

Step 1

Signup for emails

If you're already receiving "NHS Band Office" emails, you're already in! Otherwise, log in to your student's CHARMS account and check the contact info there.

 

Step 2

Look out for 'Signup Genius' emails.

All volunteer needs are emailed out using Signup Genius. When an email arrives, just scan the jobs and click to signup.

Step 3

Turn in the Volunteer form.

Another way to express interest in volunteering is by filing out and turning in the 'Sustainment & Volunteer Form'. If you can't help financially, that's ok!
